BackupPowerCompass is an independent educational resource focused on uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) for U.S. homes and home offices.
Why this website exists
Backup-power purchases involve real tradeoffs: VA and watts are different specifications; not every socket on a UPS remains powered during an outage; runtime depends on actual load; and output waveform and battery serviceability matter for some equipment. We aim to make those tradeoffs easier to understand.
How we approach products
We study official manufacturer manuals, datasheets and product specifications. When we have not physically tested a unit, our articles say so. A documentation-based buying analysis is not an independent laboratory review or proof of specific device compatibility.
What you can find
Our knowledge guides explain the basics of UPS selection, safety, battery care and practical setup. Model-specific reviews and comparisons are published only after verification of the exact U.S. product and any associated purchase links.
Always follow the manual of your exact UPS model, particularly for electrical safety, battery service and devices that must not be connected.
