At BackupPowerCompass, our objective is to explain UPS specifications and buyer tradeoffs accurately and transparently.
Our sources
We prefer official model-specific documentation, including the manufacturer’s product page, user manual, datasheet and published runtime chart. We identify the model name, the U.S. electrical version and relevant revision where possible. We may also consult clearly attributed independent test reports.
What counts as testing?
When we have not bought, set up, measured or physically tested a device, we say so. We do not invent battery runtimes, customer ownership experiences, test ratings or performance scores. Manufacturer-published figures are labeled as such. An estimated calculation is not a measured test.
How we compare UPS models
Our buying analyses consider rated real output (W) versus apparent power (VA), UPS topology and output waveform, battery-backed versus surge-only outlets, published runtime at stated loads, battery replaceability, communication and shutdown software, restrictions, availability and meaningful alternatives.
Updates and corrections
UPS product generations, retailer listings, replacement batteries and software change. Reviews should carry a checked or updated date, and source links should be revisited as products change. Material errors should be corrected with updated documentation rather than quietly repeated.

Some future model reviews may contain affiliate links. Monetization does not establish that we physically tested a product and does not justify making unsupported claims. Read our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
